At Averett, learning is not limited to what takes place in the classroom. Your student will have the opportunity to attend many cultural and athletic events. This link provides calendars for the school year, the Averett Concert-Lecture Series, Averett Theatre Productions and other opportunities available to your student.

Averett Concert Lecture Series
Averett’s annual Concert-Lecture Series brings theatre productions, concerts, lectures and other cultural events to the Danville community each year. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the series is offered free to the public and to students. The Averett Theatre Players is comprised of students from Averett’s Theatre Department. The department performs four major productions a year. Tickets for the 2004-05 theatre productions ranged from $5 for students and senior citizens to $8 for adults. Averett students attend the productions for free. |
Arts & Humanities
The office of Student Development is able to provide a limited number of free tickets for students who are interested in attending Arts and Humanities events. |
Danville Concert Association

Athletics
Averett offers 14 intercollegiate sports that compete at the NCAA Division III level within the USA South Athletic Conference. Cougar student-athletes total more than 250 individuals and represent the university in the sports of baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, football, men’s golf, women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and women’s volleyball. All athletic events are free for students. |
