How do I apply ?
Students may apply online, e-mail the Admissions Office or call them at
(434) 791-4996 for a paper copy. Applications are accepted year round.

What is the application deadline?
Averett operates on the “rolling admissions” system so there is no application deadline. Completed applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and candidates will be notified of a decision approximately two weeks after receipt of all necessary supporting documents.

Is there an application fee?
No, there is not an application fee for traditional undergraduate students. However, there is a $35 application fee for international students.

How do I arrange a visit and/or interview?
To arrange a visit and/or an interview contact the Admissions Office at
1-800-AVERETT (283-7388). A typical visit includes a tour of our campus led by a student ambassador followed by a personal interview with an admissions counselor. Interviews give the admissions counselor the chance to meet you and find out more about his/her interests and goals, as well as allows your son or daughter to learn more about the university. At your student’s request, Admissions Counselors will also arrange appointments with faculty, coaches, financial aid, or other resource personnel, depending upon their availability.

Campus tours last approximately 45 minutes and personal interviews last approximately 30 minutes.We welcome prospective students and their families throughout the year by appointment. Please contact the Admissions Office at 1-800-AVERETT (283-7388) to schedule your visit. The Admissions Office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. from September through May. Open Houses and workshops are scheduled throughout the year.

How do I arrange an overnight visit?
Averett also invites prospective students to spend a night on campus with an Admissions Host/Hostess and experience college life. Please contact us at least two weeks in advance to schedule an overnight visit. 1-800-AVERETT (283-7388).

How much does it cost to attend Averett?
Estimated annual costs for tuition and fees for the 2006-7 academic year are: yearly tuition - $18,792; yearly room and board - $6,448; yearly general fee - $1,000.
