Averett's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), "Reading for Life," focuses on improving students' attitudes toward reading and reading-related activities. It supports academic success and helps students develop critical skills they'll need for success in the classroom and in life.

The QEP goal is to establish a culture of reading on the Danville campus. In support of the goal, plans call for the creation of reading discussion groups, the distribution of newspapers and other reading material and an emphasis on reading across the curriculum. Learning to read critically will be a highly valued and important component of an Averett degree.
