Arriving on Campus

Unlike many other schools, you will not be arriving to campus to stay for a few brief days for Orientation. Your arrival for Orientation is your arrival for the start of the spring semester. Before arriving to campus, those of you living on campus will receive your housing assignment as well as information about your new roommate. Spend some time before arriving for Orientation getting to know this person and working out some of your living arrangements. A residence hall room can fill up quickly if there are two of everything in the room!

The Residence Life Staff of Averett University consists of the Director of Residence Life, an Assistant Director of Residence Life, Housing Coordinator and 16 Resident Assistants (RAs). The RAs each live on a residence hall floor and have been trained to perform a variety of duties, including: educational and social functions, peer counseling, maintaining discipline, providing information, mediating conflicts, and working to develop a sense of community on each floor. We all genuinely care about your well-being and success. Please visit them when questions or problems arise; they can only answer questions and help solve problems they know about! They, along with everyone else at AU, are all looking forward to getting to know you!
