Library Home

Averett students, faculty, and staff can connect to subscription databases and electronic journals from any campus or off-campus Internet location.

If you are off-campus, you can login to library resources from home or work, including locations behind corporate firewalls, provided that your employer allows general web access through a default TCP port. If you do not have access at work, you should make provisions for library research at another location.

Your 9 digit Averett ID number is now required for remote access to subscription resources and interlibrary loan web forms. If this number is not printed on your Averett ID card, please call (800-543-9440; 791-5692) or e-mail the library (aclib@averett.edu). You ID number is not your Social Security number.

To access subscription resources from your home or office, select an electronic resource from Databases, A-Z, Subject Guides, or the Journal Locator. If your choice requires authentication and you are off-campus, you will be prompted to enter:

  1. Username: your Last name, or the first part of your compound last name
  2. Password: the 9-digit ID number printed on your Averett ID card. If this number is not on your card, please call (800-543-9440; 791-5692) or e-mail the library (aclib@averett.edu)

Cookies must be enabled on your web browser. As long as your browser session remains open, you will not be prompted to login again, regardless of how long you search or how many databases you use.

Your database searches are anonymous. The library does not record user identity with searching activity.

Please report any access problems to the Reference Desk (aclib@averett.edu, 800-543-9440, 791-5692).
