Averett has a long tradition of book selection by faculty in academic departments. Your department has designated a representative to the library who receives and distributes American Library Association"Choice Cards" and forwards book and media requests to our acquisitions coordinator, Mrs. Ruth Haffner. Choice Cards are for your convenience. We accept requests from any accurate source, including email messages and publishers' catalogs.

When funds are limited, librarians must prioritize requests, ordering materials required for classes or directly related to the curriculum before books of interest for faculty research.

Book allocations are based on a formula that balances credit hours generated, circulation, use of past allocations, and average cost of a book in your field.

For more information, or to recommend a journal or database, please contact the library director, your department chair, or library representative.
