FAFSA Checklist

Before Submitting Your Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):

Review your completed FAFSA to verify all of the answers you provided are accurate.

Print clearly and legibly.

Print your correct and complete name just as it appears on your Social Security Card. (Question 1-3)

Make sure the Social Security number belongs to you, the student and not your parent. (Question 8)

Make sure the birth date belongs to you, the student. (Question 9)

Check the box that applies to you, the student applicant, and not your parents' marital status. (Question 16)

If you do not already have a four-year college degree, this answer should be "no". (Question 28)

For questions 35-47 and 79-86, write in zeros if the answer is "none".

Do not leave any questions blank.

If parental information is given, you and at least one of your parents must sign the FAFSA.

Make copies of all records used to complete this application (W-2s, income tax forms, worksheets, etc.) You may have to provide copies of these documents at a later date.
