What to Expect

Visiting Averett
The best way to determine if Averett is the right university for you is to visit the campus. A typical visit includes a tour of our campus led by a Student Ambassador, followed by a personal interview with an Admissions Counselor. Interviews give the admissions staff the chance to meet you and find out more about your interests and goals, as well as allow you to learn more about the university. Campus tours last approximately 45 minutes, and personal interviews last approximately 30 minutes.

At your request, Admissions Counselors will also arrange appointments with faculty, coaches, financial aid, or others, depending upon their availability. Averett also invites prospective students to spend a night on campus with an Admissions Host/Hostess and experience college life. Please contact us at least two weeks in advance to schedule an overnight visit.

We welcome prospective students and their families throughout the year by appointment. Please contact the Admissions Office at 1-800-AVERETT (283-7388) to schedule your visit. The Admissions Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm with open houses and workshops scheduled on select Saturdays.
Saturday visits are scheduled from 9:00 AM - Noon, September - May. The Admissions Office is closed most holiday weekends.

A student who would like to visit with the Director of Aeronautics program
or a member of his staff or the Director of the Equestrian Studies program
or a member of her staff should notify an admissions representative at least
two weeks in advance of the campus visit.

Feel free to e-mail or call the Admissions Office at 1-800-283-7388 to make the request or visit the Meet your Admissions Counselor link to determine which admissions counselor serves your area.
