Admissions

Averett operates on the "rolling admissions" system; therefore, when all necessary supporting documents arrive at the University, the Admissions Committee will review the application and promptly inform the applicant of a decision.

SAT or ACT scores are required, along with high school graduation with at least 15 acceptable units in grades 9-12: 4 in English, 5 in mathematics and sciences (including, at least, Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry, and 2 lab sciences), 3 in history and social sciences, and 3 electives (foreign language is recommended).

Students who have completed the G.E.D. may be considered for admission. International students must take the TOEFL and achieve a score of 500 or greater 173 on the computer version). Transfer students should be in good standing with their previous university and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

Advanced placement and/or university credit may be granted for A.P., I.B., Dual Enrollment, C.L.E.P. and DANTES tests.

Freshman admission requirements for Fall 2007 will include: 3 mathematics units and 3 lab science units.
