Extracurricular Activities

Students enjoy concerts, movies, lectures, trips and other events sponsored by the Cougar Activities Board. In addition, an active Student Government Association, clubs, organizations, honor societies and Greek organizations add to campus life.

The university's annual Concert-Lecture Series brings plays, concerts and guest lecturers to campus, and the Averett Players, Averett Singers and Handbell Choir perform throughout the year.

If your interest is sports, Averett athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division III USA South Athletic Conference. Students also enjoy a variety of intramural sports competitions from basketball to softball and dodgeball.
