Visiting Team Information

On behalf of the sports medicine team at Averett University, we would like to welcome you to Danville, VA. Please do not hesitate to let us know how we can assist you and your team. We look forward to your team’s visit and wish you a healthy and successful year.
 
Before you make your trip to Averett University and the Danville area, please take the time to read the information below to help make your trip easier.

Averett University Athletic Training Services:

Our athletic training room, located in the Grant Center, will be open for your use 1.5 hours prior to each event/game. We will have a certified athletic trainer on site for every event, and a team physician will either be on site or on call. If you need assistance upon your arrival to Averett University, please contact us in advance so that we can fully accommodate your needs. If your team is traveling with a certified athletic trainer, our facilities and modalities will be available for your use. However, if you are not sending an athletic trainer, or you are sending a student, we ask that you send a prescription from either an ATC or a team physician. We will be available to perform any taping that is required for your team, however we ask that you provide all the needed supplies (Averett University Athletic Training will not provide any supplies needed for taping/bracing).

The following supplies will be provided:
 
Hydrocollater
Whirlpool
Injury/Treatment Ice/Bags/Flexi-wrap
Estim
Ultrasound
Emergency Supplies (Splints, crutches, spineboard, etc.)
OSHA regulated first aid supplies
 
Ice, water, and cups will be provided on the sidelines during all home games/matches.
 
Please provide your own towels, Averett University Athletic Training will not provide towels during games/matches or for post-event showers.
