Averett's Department of Biology offers a major in medical technology that prepares students for an exciting career in medical technology.

Approved by the Board of Registry of Medical Technology and the American Association of Clinical Pathologists, the program offers a Bachelor of Science degree through an affiliation with AHC/King's Daughter's Hospital, Fishersville, Va. Students may also have the opportunity to attend other accredited hospital programs.

The program includes three years of college work and one year of clinical instruction and practice at a teaching hospital.
