Accounting Concentration
The accountancy program prepares students for diverse careers in public accounting firms, corporations, small businesses, nonprofit organizations and government. Graduates pursue careers as internal and external auditors, financial managers, tax experts, consultants in CPA or with consulting firms.
In the five-year program, you can earn a bachelor's degree in accounting with 150 credits. This Bachelor of Science degree qualifies the graduate to take the CPA examination in Virginia and other states.
Anyone planning on taking the CPA exam in a particular state should contact that state board for its requirements. A summary of the states' requirements can be found at www.nasba.org.
